After being nearly destroyed by Thorn at his crumbling castle, and you will now be without any warriors. You will go through a long cutscene, introducing you to the Mystic, an old, hag-like creature. She will speak to you of why you were at the castle and how to find Ortho. At the end of the cutscene, the Warrior Trainer will come into the hut and ask you to follow him.

After the cutscene, follow the trainer outside of the hut and turn to the left up the hut, which heads up. Keep heading up until you find another hut similar to the Mystic's hut. Enter the hut and you will go through a brief training with the Warrior Trainer.

You will go through a series of moves such as kicking, hovering, and flying, which he will show you the controls of himself. After you do this, he will give you an Elixer of Life, which increases your health bar. Drink the Elixir bottle and Ortho(the man in the Wotnot book) will come to you, after he watches your work on the Warrior Trainer's tasks.

You will then go through a brief, background story of the Wotnot book. Afterwords, exit the hut, head back down(to your right) and re-enter the Mystic's hut.

When you re-enter the hut, the Mystic will tell you about the Elemental Warrior's sprite forms and the Shadow Trolls, dreaded troll-like beings that are carrying the Elemental Sprites. After the cutscene, exit the hut and there will be a small cutscene, showing a Shadow Troll dive into a stone well. Keep heading forward(once you exit the hut), and when you find the stone well that was shown in the cutscene, enter it.

After entering the well, you will then find yourself in the Shadow Realm, the Shadow Troll's location. A Shadow Troll will appear infront of you, and you will see that he is carrying the sprite of Pummelweed, that plant warrior that you used at Thorn's Castle. You will come across 7 of these Shadow Realm sequences in the entire game. Once the battle starts, you will shortly see that white, bright trolls will come from under the ground. Walk up to them quickly, and use your flip-kick attack on the bright troll. Once you kick the troll, walk into it's vulnerable spirit, walk infront of the Shadow Troll, and press the back, right button to fire the bright, Troll spirit at the Shadow Troll. This will destroy the Shadow Troll, and Pummelweed will be free. Walk up to the dancing, joyful sprite and press the "A" button to absorb him. You will then be rewarded with a well-graphiced, transformation sequence, showing Pummelweed evolve into his true, warrior form.....

Once you have exited the well and saved Pummelweed, Ortho will take you step-by-step of how to upgrade your warriors. Then, head back to the Mystic's hut, and she will use her crystal eye to show you the location of Halis, Kameo's younger uncle. He has been taken to the Forgotten Forest, the lair of one of the three demons of the land. After the cutscene, exit the hut and head upward until you find a golden gate.

Form into Pummelweed and use his "Uprooter" technique that you used at Thorn's Castle and go under the gate. Then, head forward, through a small, dark hallway. Once you do, you will end up inside of the Dungeon of Eternal Life. In the middle of the chambers' opening room, there is a warp gate, a quick means of transportation. Once the Warrior Trainer walks through the warp gate, follow him through, and you will enter.....the Badlands......
